Brief description of sine wave filter:

Sike's sine wave filter is used in motor drives in many transmission systems (especially in frequency converters or switching power supply devices). Passive filters are designed to convert the non-sinusoidal voltage generated by frequency converters, etc., to make the voltage waveform A waveform similar to a sine wave is formed. Mainly used in 380 to 480V industrial power grids. Because the voltage drop of this filter is much lower than the current market standard, it can guarantee a very high motor input voltage. It can reduce noise and protect relatively sensitive motors, allowing the use of very long motor cables, up to 2000 meters. Typical application industries: metallurgy, coal, petrochemical, water treatment, new energy, etc. Generally, if the distance between the domestic inverter and the load exceeds 50 meters, a reactor must be added. If there is a requirement for the output waveform of the inverter, a sine wave filter must be added; if the distance between imported inverters exceeds 100 meters , It is necessary to add a sine wave filter. This distance refers to the length of the connection. The manufacturing cost of the sine wave filter is relatively high. Generally, if there is no special requirement, it is sufficient to select a special filter for the frequency converter or an output reactor.

The role of sine wave filter:

1. Extend the life of the motor;

3. Reduce motor bearing current;

5. Improve system reliability;

6. After applying this filter, ordinary motors can replace variable frequency motors;

7. Good suppression of electromagnetic interference;

8. Since the output of the inverter contains high frequency harmonics, it increases the loss of the power cable and the motor; at the same time, extremely high dv/dt will cause radiation interference of several MHz; if the motor needs long-term transmission (the motor cable exceeds 50 meters ), the motor terminal voltage is superimposed due to traveling wave reflection, which damages the motor insulation and even causes the cable to burst;

9. For harmonic current, the harmonic component can be reduced by changing the modulation method, but it cannot be completely eliminated. For radio frequency interference caused by dv/dt, dv/dt electromagnetic filter can be installed, but it can only be effective for a certain length of cable, not suitable for any length of cable;

10. An effective way to solve the above problems is to install a sine wave filter on the output side of the inverter to filter the SPWM modulation wave into a voltage waveform similar to a sine wave. The sine wave filter consists of a high-frequency outlet reactor and an RC loop. Composed of common mode reactors. It can effectively suppress high-frequency loss and dv/dt radio frequency interference, and extend the cable between the motor and the inverter to 500 meters, or even 2 kilometers.
